LUXOR: Drive to the the Temples of Karnak and visit this nearly 200-foot-long temple featuring three bark chapels, a hypostyle hall of eight cthis elegant temple resting was begun by Amenhotep  III and largely completed by Ramses II, though later builders added to it, including Alexander the Great and several Roman emperors. An avenue of sphinxes once connected it to Karnak Temple almost two miles away.

THEBES: Cross the Nile by driving on the bridge from Luxor to the City of the Dead in Thebes. On the way you will view the enormous sandstone Colossi of Memnon, formerly part of the royal mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.  These two seated figures are 59 foot high, and covered by graffiti scratched by the Roman Emperor Hadrian and other travellers of antiquity.  Continue the drive to visit the Valley of the Kings, taking the small-cart-train to the the hidden valley of rock-carved tombs of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs that was home to 64 tombs including such celebrity tombs of Ramses I, III, IV, IX; Amenhotep III, Tutankhamun, and Seti I (cameras and entrance to some tombs are with extra fees).   Then visit the Valley of Queens, with 70 tombs, housing the most magnificent tomb that belongs to Queen Nefertari -beloved wife of Ramses II. 

EDFU: Riding a horse drawn carriage you will go to the Temple of hawk-headed Horus in Edfu.  You will visit this immense temple which was started to be built in 237 BC and completed in 200 years, and is considered one of the best preserved temple in Egypt.  The Court of Offerings has a colonnade of 32 colums covered with reliefs, and a magnificent falcon made of black granite guards the entrance to the steps.  The small granite shrine at the rear of the sanctuary is hewn from one single block, and dates from the 30th dynasty.

KOM OMBO: Visit the Ptolomaic Twin Temple of Sobek and Horus, which dates back from Ptolomaic and Roman Times. The magnificent colored reliefs in the forecourt show the purification of King Ptolemy XIII by temple Goddesses.  Kom Ombo was also a center of medical healing.  In Kom Ombo you will see the mummified alligators.

ASWAN: You will sail with “felucca”s (locally built authentic small wooden sail-boats) around Elephantine Island and visit Visit the Temple of Philae of Isis representing a fusion of the three great civilizations: Egyptian-Greek and Roman.   You will drive to the Gigantic High Dam built between 1960 and 1971 to control the flooding of the Nile, which presents a good picture taking opportunity. You will see the 1170 ton Unfinished Obelisk, made out of granite, admire the technology of Ancient Egyptians.  Time permitting, you will visit some local ornament and fragrance manufactures for shopping.
